Winner of ‘Dr. Shirota’ award for the ‘Bacteria Invisible to Visible 2’ Exhibition by Yakult Italia and Naba, Milan

The intention of this exhibition by Yakult Italia is to blur the boundaries between art and science through the concept of gut brain health. The artist created an installation with wires making an abstract form of the body and used copper wire to create internal connections. To involve spectators as a part of the installation, the artist used origami as inspiration due to its shared origin from Japan with the Yakult company. She created instructions on papers to fold origami that resemble the shapes of the good bacteria in the body. The spectators can fold papers into different origami forms that can be put onto the installation, or taken, creating a dynamic artwork.
